DIODE

The Collaboration between Tristram Williams and Michael Fowler now goes back some 15 years, to their meeting over a mutual interest in the seedier underbelly of classical music, whilst students at the University of Newcastle. They perform together often as recitalists, in concerts known for the fascinating juxtapositions of their programming. Eschewing the romantic, the sentimental, or the plain crap (which is unfortunately most of the Trumpet/piano repertoire), there concerts usually include transcriptions, or works recomposed by them. Composers they have enjoyed representing are: Zimmermann, Bach, Ives, Messiaen, Dello Joio, Schumann, Spiers, Stockhausen, Takemitsu, Satoh, Lim, Berio, Hindemith, Gruber, Enescu….and others.
